A wayyy nice bar than it use to be !!!

I remember going to Side Streets back in the 90s...wow, what a change it has made, a very needed and positive change!! Love what has been done to the bar, and peeps there are sooo much more friendly and nice looking and the bar is up beat and cleaned up!! Bonus points to the owners of the "new" Side Streets, great job on the décor and atmosphere there!! I had a great time there last night and the bartender SURE does know how to make a great long island tea! Nice !!! Thumbs up to Side Streets bar.

Brilliant Place! Wonderful Time!

I have lived in Wichita a few years now and never really felt comfortable until I stumbled upon Side Street. They have a lot of parties there so a group of friends and I decided to attend one a couple years ago. When we walked in we were SO SURPRISED! You would never expect a place like this in Wichita. It is very upscale and you can tell it was a painstaking process to design and decorate. Upon talking with the owner, I found that the paint scheme was actually designed by a New York interior decorator. Walls are not white (as a previous reviewer stated), but apple green with retro designs in purple and yellow. The lighting is the coolest thing I have ever seen! The owner brought the lights back from Asia. I even bought one from him for my home! The staff is great, the drinks are good and less expensive than the other bars in town, and the atmosphere is warm and friendly, unlike the some of the other bars I have been to in town. As far as I am concerned, this place is a hidden jewel in town and I just learned that it was voted the "Best All-Around Gay Bar in Wichita" by the readers of the local gay paper. I rarely go anywhere else. Thank You!

Agree with the previous review...

This place looks like the basement at a japanese airport....it's painted white inside and that's just the beginning. The 'head' or lead bartender thinks he is very comical...and that no one else is as funny as he is...he often appeared manic and it made us kinda nervous. A female friend of the bartender made a habit of going back and forth to the restroom every 5-10 minutes and it was quite obvious what she was up to. Very low class experience, and if you don't know anyone in there look forward to a boring time...it's filled with regular drinkers who are not sociable...
